Objective:
The overall objective of the call is to provide financial and advisory support for interregional innovation investments in shared and complementary areas of smart expertise along European value chains.
Issues and priorities:
- Digital Transition
This priority targets investments in businesses and public administrations, regarding the digital transition. The projects will unlock the potential for digital growth by developing innovative solutions that improve the accessibility and efficiency of services (both for businesses and citizens) while bridging the digital divide.
In the context of this thematic priority, applications are encouraged in one or more or a combination of the investment sectors concerning Digital Economy Innovations, Digital Transformation of Public Administration and Digitalization of Healthcare. - Green Transition
The European Green Deal aims to make Europe a resource-efficient and competitive economy, while reducing the EU’s dependence on fossil fuels. The second priority in supporting innovative investments in the value chain, strengthening the economy through green technology and creating a sustainable industry/transportation.
It also intends to provide support for interregional investment, sustainable food systems, sustainable agriculture, clean energy, sustainable industry, buildings and renovation, sustainable mobility and pollution elimination.
Applications are encouraged under this thematic priority in one or more or a combination of the investment areas related to Innovative investments in decarbonisation, investments in smart cities, business investments related to smart, sustainable/efficient transport solutions and/or alternatives fuels, in natural resource management, in RES and energy efficiency, blue and circular economy, bioeconomy, efficient and sustainable agriculture and forestry, innovation in sustainable solutions for the sea/marine and inland waters, as well as investment in sustainable business models and alternative modes of production and consumption. - Smart Production
This thematic priority focuses on improving the delivery of new or improved products, processes or services in the manufacturing industry and promoting a circular economy approach.
Under this thematic priority, cross-regional innovation investments to adopt new or improved production solutions are supported, as well as supporting industry to face the challenge of digitization and promote the shift towards more environmentally sustainable production. Based on this priority, applications are encouraged in one or a combination of intervention areas such as Demonstration Processes, i.e. helping new products reach the market faster or with more efficient and sustainable processes, Exploiting research results and practical applications for the diffusion of innovation, Connecting or complementary use of test facilities at interregional level, Improving the use of natural resources and material reuse, promoting circularity models, Concrete implementation strategies, Implementing interregional demonstration cases to test and replicate results, Dissemination of innovation and participation of SMEs in the value chains of EU.
Eligibility:
In order to be eligible, applicants must:
be legal entities (public or private bodies)
be established in one of the eligible countries, i.e.: EU Member States [including Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs)], non-EU countries listed by the EEA and countries associated with the I3 Instrument programme, (associated countries) or countries where negotiations for an association agreement are ongoing and where the agreement enters into force before the grant is signed.
Available budget:
The available budget of the call is €31.000.000.
